The only planner that can read your brain
Wear a Muse EEG headband during a focus block and Flocus scores your real focus — 0–100, live, from your actual brainwaves. Not how long you sat there. How deep you actually went.
Works with every Muse headband · no hardware required for the rest of Flocus
From raw EEG to a focus score you can act on
Flocus streams the EEG from your Muse straight into the browser and analyzes it continuously — built on decades of neuroscience research into optimal performance.
The signal: theta, beta, alpha
Flocus analyzes the theta/beta ratio of your EEG — the attention signal decades of neuroscience link to sustained, absorbed concentration — alongside alpha activity for relaxed alertness. Focused and scattered minds look measurably different.
A 30-second personal calibration
Every session starts with a short calibration that establishes your baseline, so the score reflects your brain on this day — not a generic average. Sleep, stress, and caffeine all move the baseline, and calibration absorbs them.
Three states, classified live
Moment to moment, Flocus classifies your state: Flow (absorbed, focused attention), Overload (cognitive strain — a sign to ease off), or Low Engagement (under-stimulated, drifting). The goal of a focus block is simple: maximize time in flow.
Want the deeper mechanism — theta, alpha, beta, and the inverted-U of arousal? The science behind Flocus goes all the way down.
Watch your focus while it happens
Flow used to be something you only noticed after it was gone. With a live score, you can see it arrive — and protect it.
A live score, not a verdict
As you work, your flow score (0–100) updates in real time with a color-coded state, and the session builds a timeline of your flow patterns. Don't stare at it — glance occasionally and let it run. Watching the score climb as you settle into a task is its own kind of feedback loop.
Flow extensions: the timer that won't interrupt you
A normal pomodoro timer rings whether you're drifting or in the deepest work of your week. When Flocus can see you're in flow as a block ends, it extends the interval instead of breaking it — the break waits for your brain, not the other way around.
Rest before you crash
Mental energy depletes before you feel it. Flocus tracks cognitive load over the session and watches for the drift that signals fatigue — then recommends a break while a short one still works. It tracks your recovery too, so you can see how much a real break actually restores.
Pushed too hard anyway? The Overload state shows up in the moment, not in tomorrow's burnout. Use the score to time your breaks, not to grind through them.
Focus you can measure, not just remember
Every session is saved with its flow timeline, peak moments, and fatigue curve. Over weeks, that record becomes the most honest productivity data you've ever had.
Flow-weighted insights
A finished focus block tells you that you sat there. The flow timeline tells you how much of it was real, absorbed focus — so your insights weigh the quality of the time, not just the quantity.
Your peak focus window
Across sessions, Flocus learns when your brain reliably does its best work. Put your most-important task inside that window instead of guessing.
Neuro personal records
Best flow percentage, highest peak score, longest unbroken flow streak. PRs for your attention — quiet proof that the practice is working.

The EEG layer feeds the same insights every Flocus plan gets — see how the daily planner turns sessions into more honest plans.
Every Muse headband ever shipped
If you already own a Muse, you already own the hardware. Flocus connects over Bluetooth and auto-detects your headband's protocol.

Original Muse Muse 1
The first-generation Muse EEG headband. Discontinued, still fully supported.

Muse 2
Adds heart-rate, breath, and body sensors; Flocus reads the EEG channels.

Muse S Gen 1 & Gen 2
Soft fabric band for long, comfortable sessions. Flocus auto-detects the Gen 2 (Athena) protocol.
Headband sessions run on desktop Chrome or Edge via Web Bluetooth — mobile browsers and Safari can't connect to the Muse. And everything else in Flocus works without any hardware at all: if you don't own a headband, start with the focus timer and the full planner — the EEG layer will be waiting whenever you're curious.
Your brainwaves never leave your browser
Your EEG data is processed locally in your browser and is never sent to our servers. Only aggregated session metrics — flow score, duration, time in each state — are stored if you create an account, and you can delete your data at any time. The raw signal stays with you, full stop.
Flow tracking questions, answered
Which headbands work with Flocus?
Every Muse headband Interaxon has shipped: the original Muse (Muse 1), Muse 2, and Muse S Gen 1 and Gen 2. Flocus auto-detects the Bluetooth protocol your headband speaks (Classic or Athena), so any model connects the same way — no new hardware needed if you already own one.
Do I need a Muse headband to use Flocus?
No. The daily planner, pomodoro focus timer, Focus Ring, streaks, goals, and recaps all work with nothing but a browser. The headband is an optional depth layer: wear one during a focus block and Flocus scores your real focus from your actual brainwaves.
Is my brain data private?
Yes. Your EEG data is processed locally in your browser and is never sent to our servers. Only aggregated session metrics (flow score, duration, etc.) are stored if you create an account, and you can delete your data at any time.
What is a flow score?
A live 0–100 estimate of how close you are to flow — absorbed, focused attention — computed from your EEG. Flocus analyzes your theta/beta ratio and alpha activity against a 30-second personal calibration, then classifies each moment as Flow, Overload, or Low Engagement. It is a practical proxy, not a medical readout, and it is most useful as a relative signal across your own sessions.
Does flow tracking work on mobile?
No — headband sessions need a desktop browser with Web Bluetooth (Chrome or Edge), because mobile browsers cannot connect to the Muse. Everything else in Flocus works on your phone: plan your day, run focus blocks, and close your Focus Ring from any mobile browser.
